PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

A portable fire extinguisher by definition is an item of equipment for the purpose of extinguishing a fire.  The reality is however that a portable fire extinguisher is effective only for the type and size of a fire that it is rated for. Portable fire extinguishers are generally provided as "Rapid Action" units in fire fighting and should be used only in early stages of fire before the fire grows to a stage that is beyond the capacity of the extinguisher. There are broadly six types of fire extinguisher.

DRY POWDER

(K) WET CHEMICAL

MECHANICAL FOAM

CLEAN AGENT

WATER CO2

CARBON DIOXIDE

WHEELED / TROLLEY MOUNTED FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

Wheeled fire extinguishers can be operated safely and easily operated by anyone at any time. These extinguishers come in a variety of model sizes that feature the extinguishing agents of carbon dioxide, dry chemical, dry powder, AFFF- type foam pre-mix solutions & water.

FIRE NOZZLES

Handline nozzles are one of the most important fire fighting gears for the firefighters to put out fires. A handline nozzle is connected to the fire hose that provides water flow to extinguish fires. The quality of the handline nozzle that you choose ensures effective fire extinguishing and better water flow.

LANDING VALVES

The landing valve is considered a core part of the hose system that works as a manual stop valve allowing you to completely control your firefighting system. To activate the water flux of the firefighting system, you simply turn the landing valve handle counterclockwise. Water pressure matters for high buildings.

FIRE SAFETY HOSE

A fire hose is a very high pressure hose that is used to take water to a fire. It may also carry fire retardant materials. Fire hoses can be attached to either a fire engine or a fire hydrant, and the pressure is between 800 and 2000 kPa. Drying of fire hoses after use is very important because water that is left in a hose can cause deterioration. As a result, fire houses have large structures designed to dry out the hoses.

FIRE SPRINKLER

A fire sprinkler system is an active fire protection method, consisting of a water supply system, providing adequate pressure and flowrate to a water distribution piping system, onto which fire sprinklers are connected.

HOSE ADAPTOR

Male or female threads on fire hose fittings and adapters connect to corresponding inlets or outlets on firefighting equipment. In most cases, equipment that discharges water has a male-threaded outlet—much like a garden hose—and orifices that receive water have fixed female threads or female swivels.
